Narrative: 

 

On August 4, 2026, I, Officer N. Moreira, was working Sector East-2. I responded to the area of 614 Somerville Avenue for a report of a stolen motor vehicle being tracked by GPS. The vehicle was described as a gray Honda Civic, MA Registration XXXX. Detective C. Collette and K-9 Officer A. Lorenti along with K-9 Fluff, responded to the area as well. The vehicle was confirmed stolen by Somerville Dispatch.

Detective Collette and Officer A. Lorenti spotted the vehicle on Somerville Avenue turning right onto Park Street. Detective Collette activated his emergency lights and sirens and initiated a motor vehicle stop at 43 Park Street. Officer A. Lorenti approached the driver's side and ordered the driver out of the vehicle and placed the male party in handcuffs. I approached the passenger side and ordered the female passenger out and placed her in handcuffs.

The male party was identified as Jerimiah Taste. The female passenger was identified as XXXX.

XXXX stated she did not know Taste and only met him this morning. XXXX was identified and released.

After reviewing Taste's criminal history, he was advised he was under arrest for receiving a stolen motor vehicle, a subsequent offense.

Unit 200, the prisoner transport wagon, was requested and responded. Officer A. Slattery was operating it. Officer A. Slattery searched Taste before allowing him to enter the transport wagon and found a small quantity of what is believed to be crack cocaine in his sock. Then Taste was transported back to headquarters and booked in the usual manner by Lieutenant E. Kim.

The small amount of narcotics will be entered for destruction.

Stephens Tow was requested. Officer A. Lorenti conducted an inventory of the motor vehicle and its contents for safekeeping.
