Narrative:
On the above date and time, I, Ofc S. Johnson, was assigned to marked traffic enforcement unit, Tango 4. While I was conducting speed enforcement on Washington St, a public way in the City of Somerville, near Myrtle St, where the speed limit is posted at 25 mph, I observed a motorcycle coming towards my location, that I estimated was going faster than the speed limit. As the motorcycle passed me, I confirmed its speed at 36 mph, using a hand held LIDAR unit, from a distance of 87 feet. The motorcycle is a 2016 Kawkasaki ZR1000, with Massachusetts registration # XXXX. in addition to the operator, the motorcycle was carrying a female passenger. I activated my blue lights and siren and the motorcycle pulled over. When I approached the motorcycle, and the operator removed his helmet, I recognized him as Glauderson Fernandes, whom I have stopped in the past. Mr Fernandes' drivers license is under suspension for numerous past motor vehicle offenses. He also does not have a motorcycle endorsement on his license that is necessary to operate the motorcycle he was driving at this time. At this point I placed Mr Fernandes under arrest for the stated charges, and issued him a citation, number 425752AE. He was placed in handcuffs and the handcuffs were double locked. He was transported to the police station in the wagon by Ofc. Barton and booked by Lieut Shackelford. The motorcycle was towed by Stephen's Automotive. |
