On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, while working my assigned shift and marked unit East-2, I, Officer Bitencourt, was patrolling my assigned area and routinely running motor vehicle plates when I observed a gray BMW bearing Massachusetts registration XXXX. Officer Kartso, operating marked unit East-3, covered as backup. The motor vehicle stop was conducted in front of Target, located at 180 Somerville Avenue, Somerville, Massachusetts.

     A query of the registration through CJIS revealed the registration to be suspended.

     I subsequently conducted a motor vehicle stop. Upon stopping the vehicle, I made contact with the operator, later identified as ADBULLAHI, Abdirahmon. I advised ADBULLAHI of the reason for the stop and requested his registration and identification. ADBULLAHI stated that he was renting the vehicle from a friend and did not have an identification card or know where the registration was located. I instructed him to check the glove compartment for the registration and asked if he had a photograph of his identification, which he did.

     A query of ADBULLAHI's operator's license number through dispatch revealed that his license was suspended. While this information was being broadcast over the radio, ADBULLAHI immediately reached back toward the interior of the vehicle. He was instructed to stop reaching and to keep his hands where I could see them. I then opened the driver's door, removed ADBULLAHI from the vehicle, placed him in handcuffs, and conducted a pat frisk for officer safety.

     ADBULLAHI became verbally aggressive during this process. He was advised that he was under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

     The motor vehicle was inventoried and subsequently towed by Stephens Towing.

     ADBULLAHI was transported back to the Somerville Police Department located at 220 Washington St. by Unit 200, where he was booked by Lt. Isidoro in the usual manner.
