On Wednesday, July 16, 2025 I, Officer Thomas Lambert was assigned marked unit East-1. At approximately, 10:53 AM, I was dispatched along with East-4, Officer Keighla McAloney to 455 Assembly Row, Bath & Body Works for a report of a shoplift. Somerville Police Dispatch stated a white male, wearing a red shirt, black pants, carrying a blue shopping bag had just left the store with stolen merchandise. The direction of flight was towards the parking garage behind 463 Assembly Row, Salt & Stone.

I observed a male matching the description on the Foley St. side of the Assembly MBTA Station and notified Officer McAloney. I entered the Assembly MBTA Station on the Foley St. side, while Officer McAloney entered on the Revolution Dr. side.

Once I caught up to the male matching the description, I asked him what he had stolen to which he stated nothing. The male was later identified as Mr. Jacob Walker.

I attempted to gain control of Mr. Walkers arm to which he tensed up and refused to place his hand behind his back. Mr. Walker continued to ignore my commands to place his hands behind his back and tensed his arms up once again. At this time, Mr. Walker began to pull away from me and attempt to break my grip from his arm and use the pay station doors to get separation between him and myself. I was able to keep control of his arm as well as hold onto his shirt so he couldn't get away. I continued to use verbal commands and once again ordered him to place his hands behind his back. He continued his resistive behavior. I was able to use a leg sweep and guide Mr. Walker to the ground to which he tensed his arms underneath his chest to avoid being placed in handcuffs. Mr. Walker then became assaultive and used his hand to grab onto my collar while pulling it toward my chin up toward my face. Due to his continued resistive and assaultive behavior, I delivered multiple closed fist strikes to the right side of his face in an attempt to gain control of him and place him in handcuffs. I then stood Mr. Walker up on his feet and as doing so Officer McAloney arrived to assist.

Officer McAloney drew her department issued OC spray and gave verbal commands for Mr. Walker to stop resisting or she would spray him. Mr. Walker ultimately complied and we were able to place him in handcuffs without further incident. While searching Mr. Walkers black suitcase, I located numerous products that he has stolen from Bath & Body Works. Officer McAloney located two coach wallets on his person, in his right front pocket.

Please refer to Officer McAloney's supplemental report for further.

Mr. Walker was told that he was placed under arrest and immediately he began to say he wasn't feeling well. I notified dispatch for Somerville Fire Department and Cataldo ambulance to respond and evaluate Mr. Walker. We then escorted Mr. Walker downstairs to the entrance of Foley Street.

Mr. Walker who was currently smiling stating he's lucky he didn't fight back more and he would've "fucked me up" if he did while continuing to smile and laugh.

As Cataldo ambulance arrived to our location, Mr. Walker started to close his eyes and appeared to be sleeping while standing up. He was unable to answer simple questions from the EMTs and was limp. He was transported to MGH for further treatment while still under arrest. On the way to MGH, Mr. Walker would not open his eyes until the EMT stated they may have to narcan him if he couldn't stay awake. Mr. Walker then opened his eyes and became alert immediately.

WALKER will be charged with the following:

C268 S32B, Resist Arrest

C266 S30A, Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise (2 counts)

C65 13D A&B On Police Officer

C276 S20A Fugitive from Justice on Court Warrant

I would also like to note Mr. Walker has an active arrest warrant out of NH.

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Thomas Lambert
