On 11/25/2025, I, Detective Thomas Lambert was assigned to the CAT Team but assigned this day in full uniform. At 8:48 PM, while traveling in the area of East Somerville (Broadway and MacArthur Street) operating my unmarked Police vehicle a male, later identified as Mr. Brian Fuentes was standing in the middle of Bonair Street preventing me from turning left onto Bonair Street from MacArthur.  

I spoke to Mr. Fuentes and asked if he was alright to which he stated "fuck you" while still standing in the Street off of the sidewalk. I told Mr. Fuentes I needed him to move out of the Street so I could make the full turn and he told me to go fuck myself numerous times. Mr. Fuentes appeared to be heavily intoxicated and unsteady on his feet while yelling curse words toward me. I then exited my vehicle and identified myself as Somerville Police and once again asked Mr. Fuentes to move out of the Street to which he told me to go fuck myself and began to use his index finger to poke my chest numerous times. Due to Mr. Fuentes yelling in the Street, residents from the apartment building across the Street began to come to the window and watch the spectacle. I notified Somerville Police Dispatch to have the area cars respond as back up. I then attempted to place Mr. Fuentes in handcuffs to which he pulled away from me and attempted to strike me with a closed fist, grazing me. At this time due to Mr. Fuentes's combative and violent behavior I struck Mr. Fuentes with a closed fists to gain control over him and prevent any further assaultive behavior. I was able to gain control of Mr. Fuentes and place one handcuff on his left arm while he tensed up his right arm, preventing me from placing the other handcuff on him. I ordered Mr. Fuentes numerous times to stop resisting to which he continued to tell me to go fuck myself and he would not place his hand behind his back. I delivered 3 knee strikes to Mr. Fuentes mid-section as a distraction technique to place his other hand in handcuffs, but he still would not comply with my verbal commands. Detective Collazo arrived on scene and assisted in placing Mr. Fuentes's other hand in handcuffs. Numerous other Somerville Police Units responded as well.

SFD and Cataldo Ambulance were requested to evaluate Mr. Fuentes due to being heavily intoxicated. Mr. Fuentes stated his legs were sore from walking, but that was it. Mr. Fuentes was cleared by Cataldo Ambulance and signed a medical refusal.

Mr. Fuentes was placed under arrest and charged with the following:

-CH.272 S.53 DISORDERLY CONDUCT

-CH.265 13D A&B ON POLICE OFFICER

-CH.268 S.32B RESISTING ARREST

Mr. Fuentes was transported back to Somerville Police Headquarters by Unit 200, Officer Derrick Dottin. Lieutenant Michael Capasso attempted to book Mr. Fuentes numerous times, but he refused and told him to "suck my dick" multiple times.
