Narrative:

I, Officer Roger Desrochers, report the following summary of events based on direct interview with the persons named.

On Sunday, April 12 2026, I, Officer Desrochers, was in full-uniform and assigned to (E2), and patrolling the East district, for the Somerville Police Department when at about 6:10 PM I was dispatched along with Officer Pavao (E3) to Target located at 180 Somerville Ave for a reported shoplifter who was in the office.

Upon arrival I met Target Loss prevention Officer XXXX in her office along with a male shoplifter who identified himself as XXXX (XXXX). Once inside the office I informed the male that if he had provided them with a fake name now was his chance to fix it. I provided him a pen and paper and once again he gave XXXX (XXXX) from XXXX in Revere. At this time Target was just looking to trespass him but did not know his information. XXXX was run in CJIS several different ways and did not come back to anyone. After several failed attempts to get his right name and address I called dispatch for unit 200 to respond to my location that I would be placing XXXX under arrest.

At this time, he stated that his name was Adam BINKDAN (XXXX) out of 17 Old Colony LANE in Arlington. Now that we knew who we had in front of us this info was given to XXXX for her trespass papers which were signed. BINKDAN was informed that he was being trespassed from all Target stores. He was then searched and handcuffed and brought out to unit 200 and transported back to the police station by Officer Hartsgrove.

XXXX informed us that BINKDAN entered the store with a gray lunch box over his shoulder walked around the store for a few minutes selected a pair of Turtle Beach headphones (39.99), an Anker power bank (54.99), an Anker cell phone charger (12.79) and a box of Champion shirts (24.99) and placed them into his lunch box and made his way to the front of the store. Once at the front of the store BINKDAN passed all points of sale and walked right out the front doors. He was stopped by XXXX while he was trying to exit. Once inside the office he was not cooperating with them. Two pairs of wire cutters were found inside the top pouch of the lunch box used by BINKDAN.

Due to the fact that BINKDAN did not give his correct info and could not be identified till the very end, and the statement made by XXXX he was arrested for the following.

266/30A/D SHOPLIFTING BY CONCEALING MDSE

266/49/B BURGLARIOUS INSTRUMENT, POSSES

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Desrochers #337
