1 Count: B AND E DAYTIME FOR FELONY, PERSON IN FEAR

1 Count: TRESPASS

On Tuesday, September 09, 2025, I, Officer Goodnow, and my partner, Officer Patrick Canty, were assigned to marked unit Sector East. We responded to 74 Gilman Street for a report of a suspicious person.

Upon arrival, XXXX, the resident of XX Gilman Street, made officers aware that there was a male who had run into his backyard. Mr. XXXX explained that the male had gone to the backyard of XX Gilman Street.  Officer Christopher Fusco and Officer O'Leary made their way up the driveway of XX Gilman Street towards the backyard.

Officer O'Leary looked into the basement window of the residence and could see the defendant, later identified as Ronald Seaburg, inside. Officers gave verbal commands to Seaburg to come out, which he refused. Officer Fusco and Officer O'Leary attempted to enter the basement through the back door. Seaburg immediately pushed open the basement window and attempted to flee from officers.

Sergeant Van Nostrand arrived on scene and was able to hold Seaburg in place until officers were able to place him in custody. Officer Souza read Seaburg his Miranda Warning. Seaburg refused to speak with officers.

I spoke with the homeowner of XX Gilman Street, identified as XXXX. Mrs. XXXX was very distraught and cried at one point during our conversation. Mrs. XXXX stated that she and her 16-year-old son, whom she does not want identified, were at home and heard the dogs barking in the backyard. Mrs. XXXX went on to state that she had gone out to the backyard to see what was going on when she saw Seaburg in her yard, and she began to yell at him to leave.

Seaburg did not respond to her demands to leave the property, so she went inside to call the police with her son. Mrs. XXXX son went on to say that they could hear shuffling and, at one point, believed Seaburg entered the main residence. Mrs. XXXX stated that as the police arrived, she could hear him in the basement.

Mrs. XXXX was still experiencing trauma from the incident, and she stated that it was very scary. Officer P. Canty and I attempted to calm Mrs. XXXX down and explained the next steps of the process to her.

We then spoke to Mr. XXXX, who stated that he has video footage of Seaburg in his backyard and would be willing to provide it if needed. Mr. XXXX stated that Seaburg was not welcome in his yard and would like to pursue a trespassing charge. Mr. XXXX yard is completely fenced in and closed to the public.

Prisoner transport arrived on scene, driven by Officer Romero and Officer Barton. Seaburg was brought to the Somerville Police Station and booked in the usual manner by Lt. Michael Capasso.

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Dayquan Goodnow #379
