On October 6, 2025, I, Officer McCune, was assigned to marked unit West-6, working for the Somerville Police Department. At approximately 5:20 PM, I was sitting in my cruiser with the windows down at the corner of Meacham Road and Buena Vista Road. watching Seven Hills Park when I heard yelling and screaming coming from the park area. I exited my cruiser and relayed to dispatch that I had an ongoing dispute and requested an additional unit. As I was walking over to the area, I could see Ridchy Lesy, a person I am familiar with through prior interactions, yelling and swearing at someone within the group of unhoused individuals who were sitting on the entry/exit ramp next to Meacham Rd. As I got closer, I told Lesy to calm down and tell me what was going on. Lesy continued to yell and scream at someone from the group, and in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, I physically moved Lesy away in the opposite direction. I asked Lesy what had happened prior to my arrival, and all I could gather was that he was upset about what someone had said to him within the group. As I stood with Lesy, he continued to yell and scream, and that is when Officer D. Dottin (WR-6) arrived on the scene. Lesy was eventually placed in handcuffs for officer safety reasons due to his behavior.

       At some point during the incident, Obi-Wan Perez, another party known to me from prior interactions in the Davis Square area, began yelling and screaming at Lesy. Lesy began to scream back at Perez and, at one point, yelled, "I'll fucking kill you" at Perez. I advised Perez to stop his disorderly behavior as he was making the situation worse. Despite my initial commands, Perez continued his loud and boisterous behavior by yelling threats at Lesy, stating that he would "Fuck him up". At one point, Perez even began to walk towards Lesy in an aggressive manner, and that is when I stepped in and blocked Perez's path, backing him up. While I was attempting to de-escalate Perez and move him back, he pushed me, making contact with my chest. At that point, I gave Perez one last opportunity to leave; otherwise, he would be placed under arrest. Perez then stated, "What are you going to do?" and that is when I informed him that he was currently being placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Perez was then placed in handcuffs. I called for unit 200 to respond to our location. While I was standing next to Perez, I explained to him that I had given him multiple chances to calm down and walk away. Perez acknowledged this by saying, "I know you did, and I disrespected you." While waiting for the transport wagon, Perez would have random outbursts towards officers, calling us "crackers" and "Niggers". I would like to note that while this incident was taking place, several civilians stopped what they were doing to watch and record what was happening. After other officers arrived on scene, I was able to speak with a witness who stated that Lesy had allegedly been yelling at a female who was walking by the area, and that is when Perez told him to stop. Perez continuously stated that all he was doing was defending the female.

     Unit-200, operated by Officer Duval, arrived on scene, and both Lesy and Perez were placed in the transport wagon within separate compartments and transported back to Somerville Police Headquarters to be booked by the shift commander, Lieutenant Michael Holland. Due to Perez and Lesy's continued hostile behavior, I assisted Officers Khoury and Duval with the booking process. During the booking of Perez, he continued to yell and swear at officers. As we uncuffed Perez so that he could take his booking photo, he looked at me and told me to "suck his dick" while proceeding to pull his pants down and manipulate his genitals, putting all officers in shock and disgust and causing us to turn away from him. While taking the booking photo, Perez continued to grab at his genitals and make remarks toawrds officers. There is a video within the booking area that captured the whole act. After the booking process was over, I was then informed by Officer Duval that Perez also has an active default warrant out of Brighton district court (Docket #2408CR000444).  

      Ridchy Lesy was placed under arrest for the charge of:

      Perez was placed under arrest and will be charged with the following in addition to his warrant:
