On Friday, October 10, 2025 I Officer KARTSO was working in full uniform and assigned to (E4) for the Somerville Police Department. At approximately 12:40 AM while I was waiting on the red light at McGrath Hwy at Medford St traveling NE bound towards Broadway. I saw a silver SUV traveling at a high rate of speed opposite my direction going SW bound. The SUV ran the solid red light and nearly hit a car making a turn from Medford st towards McGrath Hwy.

I later intiated my blue lights and sirens but the SUV kept driving at a high rate of speed making a right on Washington St. At this point I slowed down due to the high rate of speed and due to no pursuit policy. I kept following the path he went and later saw the suv going into the parking lot of UNION SQ business area and hitting a park bench.

The suv was later identified bearing XXXX and the driver identified as HARRISON GILMER. I asked GILMER why he was driving so fast, to which he stated I was coming from a gym social and I've been up since 5AM and I was trying to get to bed. It should be noted GILMER states he's lived in MA for years and has a valid ALABAMA license but also has a suspened MA license. At this point I asked for unit 200 operated by Officer BITTINCOURT. Citation has also been issued on hand to GILMER.

GILMER was arrested for the following charges:

Failure to STOP/YEILD C 89 S9

Destruction Of Property +1200 Wonton C 266 S127

Reckless Operation Of Motor Vehicle C90 S24

Suspended License C90 S23
